Carmen is the story of the bewitching gypsy whose enticing beauty lures a soldier into desertion and leads to his own murder.

The opera includes some of opera’s most evocative and beloved melodies – La Habanera, La Séguidille, Le Chant des fleurs, La Chanson Bohème and perhaps the most well-known baritone aria of all the Chants du toreador.

The stunning new ensemble reflects the magnificent architecture of Seville with its Roman and Moorish influences, which includes the main square, the bullring and the famous tobacco factory. The set was built for Ellen Kent in England by Setup Scenery, who also build sets for the Royal Opera Covent Garden.
